Asus ROG vs Xiaomi Black Shark - Should you buy it?



When it comes to phone we have wide range to choose from. But when it is about gaming phone we have few of them to choose from.

2 of those phones are Asus ROG which is released recently and another one is Xiaomi Black Shark.
Lets see what are these two devices and which one is better in which way?

If we talk about looks, both of the devices looks aggressive and futuristic.

Xiaomi black shark was launched April 2018 whereas ROG is still not launched but expected to be launched very soon.

Display

ROGAMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colours. Display is very sharp with the resolution of 
1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio (~402 ppi density)

Black SharkIPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colours which is as sharp as amoled even if it using the LCD with 1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio (~403 ppi density)

So in terms of display both the phones are good, but amoled gives better colour production and vibrant screen.


CPU

Both share very identical CPU, 
ROG runs on Octa-core (4x2.96 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4x1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) whereas 

Black Shark runs Octa-core (4x2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4x1.8 GHz Kryo 385 Silver)

ROG is having slightly better clock speed then Black Shark but it will not affect the performance that much.

Memory

ROG comes in 2 models

1. 8 GB + 128 GB
2. 8 GB + 512 GB
Ram remains same on both the devices .

Black Shark is also available in 2 models

1. 6 GB + 64 GB
2. 8 GB + 128 GB
2 different RAM selections are available.

GPU

Both of the devices comes with Adreno 630 chipset which works as the graphics station for both of the devices and provides immense gaming performance.

Cooling System

This is the most import thing which makes gaming phones stand separate than the regular phones.

ROG devices works on 3D vapour chamber cooling system which as said by reviewers works pretty good to improve CPU and GPU performance.

On the other hand Black Shark uses the Liquid Cooling technology to keep the performance upto the mark.

Main Camera

ROG uses the 12 MP, f/1.8, 24mm, 1/2.55", 1.4µm dual camera setup which comes with OIS along with that it features LED flash, panorama, HDR

Videos can be recorded at 2160p@30/60fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps which provides EIS


Black Shark uses the 12 MP, f/1.8, 1.25µm, 20 MP, f/1.8, 1.0µm, dual camera which supports Auto Focus and  2x Optical Zoom

It packs Dual-LED dual-tone flash, HDR, panorama

Videos recording can be done at  2160p@30fps, 1080p@30fps, 720p@120fps

Black Shark do not support 2160@60fps , 1080@60 and 240fps

Selfie Camera

Black shark takes the lead with 20 MP , f/2.2 camera followed by ROG with 8 MP, f/2.0 front facing camera.

Should you buy it?

If you are a game freak and want the best gaming performance with more advance tech. you should consider buying it. but which one of this is better?

In case of gaming performance Asus ROG will take the lead as it packs slightly higher clock speed CPU and the more advance cooling system.

Camera quality will be better on both so there is no debate about which one will be better both of them have their own pros and cons.

Looks are great on both of the devices so it depends upon the choice of person.
